Sue Monk Kidd's internationally bestselling first novel THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES has delighted many millions of readers around the world. 'Charming, funny, moving' The Times; 'A wonderful book, by turns sad, full of incident and shot through with grown-up magic reminiscent of Joanne Harris' Daily Telegraph Lily has grown up believing she accidentally killed her mother when she was four. She not only has her own memory of holding the gun, but her father's account of the event. Now fourteen, she yearns for her mother, and for forgiveness. Living on a peach farm in South Carolina with her father, she has only one friend: Rosaleen, a black servant whose sharp exterior hides a tender heart. South Carolina in the sixties is a place where segregation is still considered a cause worth fighting for. When racial tension explodes one summer afternoon, and Rosaleen is arrested and beaten, Lily is compelled to act. Fugitives from justice and from Lily's harsh and unyielding father, they follow a trail left by the woman who died ten years before. Finding sanctuary in the home of three beekeeping sisters, Lily starts a journey as much about her understanding of the world, as about the mystery surrounding her mother.

“Should Obama Be Impeached?” The United States of America is currently in three wars. What the American people would like to know is why we engaged in any of them since the President of the United States doesn’t make a commitment to winning them. The President has stated that we would start withdrawing troops from Afghanistan within a few months. If we are going to withdraw the troops in a few months without any hope of winning the war it makes more sense to withdraw them immediately. The Taliban is just waiting for the troops to withdraw. The Taliban already knows that they have won the war. The President needs to make the commitment to win the war or get out now. This is a huge waste of the resources of the United States with no hope for a positive outcome. If the President is going to have a plan to win the war then he needs to discuss it with the Generals in charge. The President does not know who we are fighting or why. When Obama was asked who the rebels are in Libya there was complete silence. Why are we there when no one knows who we are supporting? Then the President has made comments that Gadhafi must go. Then in the next sentence Obama states that we will not target Gadhafi with the air strikes. The President can not have it both ways. Either eliminate Gadhafi and his leaders or forget about winning this war. When you cut off the head of the dog, the rest of the dog is going to stop functioning. This does not seem like a very hard decision to make. Get serious about winning or get out of the game.

They share a passionate physical relationship, yet Cerina really desires an emotional connection with Temple -- a connection he is not willing to give. Eventually Cerina discovers Temple has fallen in love with Daryl and her obsession plummets out of control. "Kevin finds himself a target of a forgotten lover, who tracks him down from thousands of miles away, and will stop at nothing to ensure total destruction of his life." With gripping detail, A Deeper Blue intertwines love, hate, jealousy, infidelity, revenge, and ultimately, murder. Author Lee Hayes shows that th eline between love and hate is a thin one -- and that sins from the past can evolve into nightmares of the present.

As a boy in Brooklyn's Red Hook projects, James McBride knew his mother was different. But when he asked about it, she'd simply say 'I'm light-skinned.' Later he wondered if he was different too, and asked his mother if he was black or white. 'You're a human being,' she snapped. 'Educate yourself or you'll be a nobody!' And when James asked what colour God was, she said 'God is the colour of water.' As an adult, McBride finally persuaded his mother to tell her story - the story of a rabbi's daughter, born in Poland and raised in the South, who fled to Harlem, married a black man, founded a Baptist church, and put twelve children through college.
